2 cakes this weekend.

Busy day on Friday making cakes and decorating Elvis,
then making 3D rum bottle on Sat ...
The elvis cake was handpainted onto a fondant plate then put on the cake and framed. The colour theme of the party was red, black and white so this is what i came up with . I freehand painted the Elvis silouette onto the fondant then framed it with a fondant border and small stars.. It was for a 50th birthday so added some streamers just to give it some colour and some little wine glasses and a wine bottle.  The customer wanted the Elvis ''Taking Care of Business'' logo on it somewhere so incorporated into the plate.

The Bundy rum bottle was a choc and white swirl cake, with cream in the middle, then covered in butter cream and finally fondant.  If i did this cake again i would order in the choc fondant as the brown i just couldnt get any darker and was a little pale for my liking.  The labels were printed and laminated. (if I had more time with this order I would have ordered in edible images) however it was a last minute order and didnt get that luxury.. Still came up ok though ... the spout and cap were made from a piece of poly pipe, covered and inserted into the cake ... Really liked making this cake and the customer loved it so that was and added bonus when she came to pick it up.
